About this work

Burn Banks centers a neoclassical financial building engulfed in towering orange flames. Its columns remain visible inside the blaze, while an infinity symbol glows in the pediment and the command “Burn the Banks” repeats across the facade and borders.

Electric cyan geometry and mirrored ornamental forms surround the burning structure, intensifying the collision between heat and cold color. Invented denominations, serial fields, security patches and a multicolored mandala turn the entire spectacle into the face of a deliberately impossible banknote.

The fire operates as a symbol of institutional rejection and systemic reset rather than a documentary scene. By printing an anti-bank slogan on currency itself, the work creates a sharp contradiction: the visual authority of money is used to imagine value continuing beyond the institutions that traditionally issue and control it.
